The F-List for Music is delighted to announce that renowned DJ Paulette to be 6th President!
The F-List for Music is delighted to announce that internationally renowned DJ Paulette will serve as its 6th President. Paulette takes on the honorary role from Miranda Cooper, following in the footsteps of Hannah Peel, Professor Shirley J Thompson, Brix Smith, and Anoushka Shankar. The Presidency allows influential musicians to champion and bring attention to the impactful work of The F-List for Music.
The Presidency reflects The F-List’s commitment to supporting musicians across all genres of music, with each President representing a different area of the industry. From classical and pop to rock and composition, each has brought their own perspective to the role. With electronic music and DJ culture still heavily male-dominated, we are particularly delighted to have DJ Paulette represent this genre over the coming year. Renowned for her dynamic sets spanning house, disco, and techno, Paulette has carved out a reputation for energy and excellence across underground dancefloors and main stages across the world. She has shared the decks with global stars such as The Blessed Madonna and Radio 1’s Jaguar.
Founded during the pandemic, The F-List is the UK’s only nationwide organisation dedicated to supporting women and gender-diverse musicians. Through its online directory, training programmes, workshops, mentoring, research and advocacy, it works to overcome barriers and create meaningful opportunities across the music industry. In the online directory there are nearly 700 women tagged with ‘electronic’ music as a genre, nearly 120 DJs and just under 400 producers so we have a size-able EDM community. The F-List works across genres but have run numerous projects focused on upskilling women and gender-diverse musicians in music technology as it’s so critical to career success.
DJ Paulette says: ‘I am honoured to be named President of The F-List, an organisation that stands firmly for diversity, equity and inclusion in music. Supporting women and gender-diverse artists has always been close to my heart, and I’m proud to amplify this essential mission.’
Vick Bain, Founder of The F-List, says: “We are thrilled to welcome DJ Paulette as our sixth President. Her trailblazing career across three decades of electronic music, combined with her commitment to equity and representation, makes her the perfect figurehead for The F-List this year. Paulette’s influence, visibility and passion will help us continue driving change for women and gender-diverse musicians across the UK and beyond.”
