    Rebecca Roberts

Rebecca is an active performer, composer, vocal tutor and session musician. Singing, playing guitar and piano, she has been involved in the music industry for over twenty years. Surrounded by music as a child, her first professional performance was in London’s West End, playing Little Cosette in Les Miserables at the Palace Theatre, and later the role Jenny in the musical Aspects of Love, with John Barrowman.

After studying at Leeds College of Music, performing and working alongside artists many of whom have gone on to be amongst the world’s most highly respected musicians and composers, Rebecca has worked around the world herself in musical outfits covering many genres.

Rebecca has been lucky enough to work with some of her own favourite acoustic singer/songwriters and folk greats such as

Glen Tilbrook (Squeeze), Boo Hewerdine, Chris Helme (The Seahorses), Steve Tilston, Jon Gomm, and The Divine Comedy.

She was understandably thrilled when Eleanor McEvoy invited her to sing Mary Black’s part in Only a Woman’s Heart during a tour of Britain in 2004 as, at the age of 11 in 1992, Rebecca sang the song with her best friend in the school playground in Dublin continuously for the several months that McEvoy’s album topped the chart!

Obviously a huge highlight in Rebecca’s career was recording a duet of the Mark Knopfler song Why Worry with her own mother, the well known singer and actress Rebecca Storm. This led to a tour of Ireland and a memorable appearance on The Late Late Show.

Becks and the Bullets, Rebecca’s seven-piece comedic ska/reggae band, have played in front of thousands at festivals, including a residency at Edinburgh Festival’s famous Gilded Balloon. The band had guest members over the years from bands such as Groove Armada, New Mastersounds, Haggis Horns, and even the reggae trombone legend Vin Gordon from Bob Marley and the Wailers, who the BnB’s met while playing their monthly residency at London’s iconic Hootenany’s in Brixton. Whilst touring the UK’s most popular venues the band supported artists such as The Beat, and were supported themselves by the world’s current biggest selling songwriter, Ed Sheeran.

Rebecca has worked in the Jazz and Soul scenes with artists including Alexander O Neal, Candi Staton, and P.P Arnold, singing backing vocals and performing with her own Jazz Trio at various festivals and Jazz clubs.

More recently she has been performing her own cabaret show bringing this variety of styles together. The show has led to appearances as Guest Artist for cruise lines such as P&O, Princess and Fred Olsen.

Currently Rebecca runs her own all female choir, called Her Voice Women’s Choir, and has her own Singing School.

Rebecca’s albums of original material are available from all streaming services (itunes,  Amazon etc.) and on CD.
