Maru Jota

I’m Maru Jota, an Argentine singer-songwriter and guitarist. Currently, I am studying a Master in Songwriting at ICMP in London (2023-2024).

My music blends reggae, jazz and latin-pop, creating memorable melodies filled with soul and passion. I have had the privilege of opening concerts for artists such as Erlend Øye (Kings of Convenience / The Whitest Boy Alive) and Li Saumet (Bomba Estéreo) in Colombia.

In 2019, I released my debut album “Literal,” featuring talented artists such as Sergio Verdinelli (Spinetta, Fito Paez), Andres Rotmistrovsky, Nano Cantarini (Tini) as well as the wind section of Los Pericos. In 2022, I released an EP recorded on tape in London called “Análoga.” Currently, I am in the post-production stage of my upcoming new album, of which I have pre-released four singles on all major platforms, accompanied by a music video for each song.

I have performed my songs with a band and as a soloist around the world. I have played at WOMAD 2023 (open mic stage), Sofar Sounds London, The Old Blue Last, Paper Dress Vintage, Off The Cuff, and many other venues in London. I have also performed in Canary Islands (Spain), Colombia, Argentina, Costa Rica, Guatemala, New York City, London, Uruguay, Brazil, and Mexico.
